The First

There have been many firsts in my life. I suppose everything we ever do for the very first time is a first. And here right now is another first. My first blog. I don't know if I'll ever post these for anybody to read. I don't even know if you have to "post" them. Actually, I just got on here looking for a friend's blog (sweetmama3) and ended up starting an account of my own. I didn't even intend to end up here. But here I am. It's another first.

My name is Bryn Faris. I'm married to a very special man and we have two sweet kids, Grant, 5, and Maya, 3. Life is good to us. We live in sunny San Diego just a few miles from the beach. And we have a dog, of course. Don't many of us begin our families with dogs? There was a time when our dog was our baby. Then the real babies were born and poor Eddie became the dog.

I'm a stay-at-home mom on a leave of absence from teaching high school Spanish. I love my job, all of them. Some days I'd rather be doing something else, but wouldn't we all, no matter what we're doing. For the most part, I love my jobs.

My husband is a cpa, so during tax season, which we're in the throws of now, we are trains passing in the night. The kids and I miss him. We get our own schedule going though and it seems to work well for us most days. I say most days, not all of them, and come the end of the week and on Saturday when Troy's at work, nothing seems to work very well. But it's because my tolerance level is lowered everyday and by Saturday I don't have any. I'm lucky though. I have my parents just a few miles away and they are wonderful in every way. And I have the world's greatest friends, too. And come Sunday it's family time and the kids and I can't get enough of that man who I married. The problem is, I also can't wait to get out of the house by myself, knowing that the next day is Monday and it will start all over again. Oh the balance.

So you see, life is good. I like it that way. I guess I'll post this. I have no idea if anybody will ever read it. But here I go! Enjoy!
